Job Accountabilities
- The Automation Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining automated systems and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions within an industrial environment. This role requires expertise in PLC programming (including S7-300 & S7-400), proficiency in various industrial networks and communication protocols, and the ability to integrate complex systems for improved operational efficiency
- PLC Programming and Modification: Hands-on experience in programming and modifying PLC S7-300 & and S7-400 logic. Familiarity with other types of controllers such as Allen Bradley and B&R is an advantage.
- Industrial Network Proficiency: Experience with field bus networks (ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP), serial communication (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, Profibus) between PLCs and instruments, and Ethernet communications between machine PLCs and database systems.
- PLC Automated Machinery: Programming and testing of PLC automated machinery using Simatic Step7 and TIA portal.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Java, Python) and experience with databases like SQL.
- Integration and HMI Design: Ability to create full integration PLC programs and design HMI panels to execute machine requirements and establish complete industrial communication networks.
- Project Preparation and Engineering Drawings: Conduct studies for new project requirements, prepare detailed electrical engineering drawings, and compile complete circuit manuals including overviews and bill of materials.
- System Layout and Documentation: Perform engineering tasks such as equipment selection, schematic design, system layout, cost estimation, and system documentation using established procedures.
- On-site Installation Supervision: Ability to oversee installation works on-site, including cable tray laying, cable laying, and cable terminations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as an Automation Engineer in an industrial environment, particularly with IIoT systems.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with PLCs, particularly S7-300 & S7-400, and familiarity with Allen Bradley and B&R controllers.
- Expertise in various industrial networks and communication protocols.
- Proficiency in programming and database management, with a strong background in languages like C#, Java, or Python, and SQL databases.
- Demonstrated ability in designing and integrating PLC programs and HMI panels.
- Experience in creating electrical engineering drawings and system documentation.
- Capability to manage on-site installation and supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
